because people are stupid...Jay Bruce is not that bad...he had a bad first half while he was playing through injury, and people can't get past that...they completely dismiss his last season with us and how he's playing now that he's healthy

Jay Bruce is a .250, 25-30 hr 85-100 rbi hitter.

And thats what should be expected next year.

Except years and injuries have been taking a toll on his body. I expect better than this year, but less than that.

If we don't upgrade the offense somewhere, we're still going to have a lot of games like the last two.

The most obvious place after C (hard to acquire), 1B (gamble with Alonso), is to get somebody better than Frazier or Bruce and then move one of them.

i think the bigger stat to look at is that he is an .800+ OPS hitter...he usually also has an ISO that's over .200, which is really good as well

Jay Bruce is a .245/25/.750/bad defense player who will block somebody of value every time he steps onto a baseball diamond.

i agree that he's blocking people and should move to another team, but let's not act like he's a guy that has no value on the open market

im assuming he means Peter Alonso, a guy that if he OPS'd over .800 and had an ISO over .200, we'd be thrilled, even if he had poor defense

but Jay Bruce is a pile of shit, apparently

Alonso wouldn't be on the team right now whether Jay Bruce was on it or not

cmon, man...even you should realize that a rental player at a time where everyone was hitting 30+ homeruns would not have value...things have come back to normal this year

They won’t outbid the Dodgers.
