Brodie had nothing to do with the draft. The General Manager of the Mets lets his scouting director and senior VP of scouting handle the draft and international signees. He's in the room. Most team's handle the draft this way.

Pick, I've heard that normally with a Regime Change, the new "GM" will bring in his own guys after his first draft, is this correct?

the most the mets can give without surrendering a first rounder was 148k, is he injured or something?

why would he sign for that low?

Signing for $148k instead of following through on a Vandy commitment is definitely surprising but welcome. Maybe his family needed the money. Get him to St. Lucie!
