We are at least solidly in agreement about Wheeler...and The Grateful Dead.

You are on the right scent, these guys are Vargas haters. If he wins the 2019 Cy Young thay will complain he stole it from Jake.

I was agreeing with his point on lack of depth, as my post implied

I don't know who was complaining about Andys dismal performance. I interchangably use the genders when I'm not sure which someone identifies with.

Get woked ferchrissakes...

I'm not a Vargas hater. I'm a shitty pitcher hater. I would LOVE to be proven wrong and see Vargas get 15 wins with a sub 4 ERA this year, but I realize that I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

Jays have no reason to start him they need to get as much control as they can since they won't compete in that division for a bit

I will def say that if Vargas has 10 great starts in a row everyone would be stoked on him

But when we say great do we mean objectively great like Jake, or Vargas great? Which is like what, 6ip 2er? Which I'd still be stoked on.

He had 3 bad starts in his last 10, 3 good ones and 4 mediocre.

That's his upside.

Oh fine....in his LAST eight starts he went 5-1, 2.62 ERA, 7 starts into the 6th inning or more, only gave up more than 2 earned runs only once and beat Philly, Atl, the Dodgers and Washington twice.

Had Vargas NOT done that, he would not be getting the upper hand on the 5 spot. But he did, and, small sample, is backing it up in ST. And repeatedly ignoring it by aggregating numbers from when he was hurt and rushed back is either ignorant or juvenile.

Vargas gets hit by a bus tomorrow, we slot Lugo in the rotation, Oswalt and Santiago look more than adequate with our bullpen additions.

Sheeitt....
