Default Simeon Woods-Richardon

This kid could emerge as our top pitching prospect relatively soon. Time to take notice.

Quote:
Mets RHP prospect Simeon Woods-Richardson threw five no-hit innings on Monday for Low-A Columbia.

Woods-Richardson allowed just a walk, and he struck out eight. Drafted with the 48th pick in last year's draft, the 18-year-old still owns a 6.02 ERA, but he also has a 52/8 K/BB ratio while allowing just two homers. Long story short, Woods-Richardson has pitched much better in 2019 than that ERA indicates. He touches 97 mph with his fastball, and his curveball is another potential swing-and-miss offering. There's more work to be done here -- a lot more -- but Woods-Richardson does offer some significant upside.

He might already be our top pitching prospect unless you're really buying in on Kay having more upside than previously believed

Szapucki not having a strong return is sad. Was hoping for a Matz-like ascent

yea, Peterson still has a claim for the top spot but SWR has the highest ceiling. I'm excited about his future progression.

Szapucki was easily my favorite non-Kelenic prospect since 2015. Over Alonso, Rosario, Gimenez, etc...

Simeon Woods Richardson, RHP, New York Mets (Low-A Columbia): 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.

Richardson had a rough month of May, giving up 25 runs in just 20 innings, but has been brilliant in June. He’s yet to allow a run and has struck out 16 in his two starts.

Pitched two innings on the sixth. They're being cautious as fuck with him.
