there's no way he'll sign a 1 year deal to play for the Mets...he'd be better off just staying in Houston for another year if he can't get better than a 1 year deal...Buchholz on the other hand will probably sign anywhere that would want him...teams may not want to sign him to fill out their rotation and he'd probably not be willing to sign as just rotation depth either...the Mets seem like the perfect fit where he could get legitimate starting pitching time while also not having to be relied on to be pitching every 5th day either...it all makes sense, so we just need to make the move

but Houston is a perennial WS contender and the team that drafted him and he's been with his whole career...if the Mets and Astros both offer him a 1 year deal for $15 mil, where do you think he goes?

Honestly if i was him and aggravated my team wasnt showing me the love -- I think we offer the better scenario for a big year to get him paid.

ok, we'll just agree to disagree...I personally think he'd just stay in Houston if he's not getting much love in the FA market, like how Moustakas just re-signed with the Royals when no one was showing interest last year

The Mets should be all over Keuchel. Adding him makes us legit WS contenders IMO.

if that's the thinking, then I would agree Keuchel should choose the Mets over the Astros because if he comes to the Mets and they are legitimate WS contenders, there would be nothing greater for his brand...unfortunately, I just don't think we're a Dallas Keuchel away from being a WS contender, but he would still be nice to get

Yup completely agree. They need one more legit guy and if they want to make Lugo that guy then they need to go add a reliever like Warren at minimum then
