Showed some better signs last night, velocity was good, couple of decent sliders

Command was off, but not giving up on him yet

Some folks need to take a breath, Jesus. Go for a walk. Get laid.

I really don't understand how you guys freak out after every game, sure during the game, tensions are up, but I mean, it's game 2 of 162, can't pass judgement on anything.

Montero did look better than past years.

So hopefully he can move forward.

I'm not ready to give up on him yet, but this is the breaking season for him.

We agree on this one. If I ever got to actually see the minor leaguer I read about pitch a major league game, I wouldn't hate him for failing. The thing about Montero is that he developed a strong reputation for pounding the strike zone. In the majors - always behind in the count; walking too many hitters. It's completely simple: the guy is terrified to challenge major league hitters. He's scared to compete at this level. Could there be a more damning quality for a professional athlete? The guy has defeated himself before any hitter ever has a chance to do damage. I don't think much of Ynoa either, but I would have preferred to have kept him.

2014 - rookie. I'll live with problems.
2015 - some health issues. I'll continue to hope.
2016 - time to show something. You showed absolutely nothing. Fuck off. I don't wanna see you again.

He was challenging them last night, especially after his first inning, was just missing arm side, cuz ball was moving a lot

He threw 5 scoreless vs this exact same Braves line up in ST, not minors

Thankfully Mets aren't gonna send him down based on 1 outing

My only issue is that he tries to dot the outside corner a lot and he's pretty decent at it, but once you fall behind 1-0, 2-0, you gotta throw one over the plate, you throw 95, trust your stuff

If you can use hypnosis, waterboarding, psychedelic drugs or some other form of mind control to drive your point home to this head case, we can talk. I've seen no evidence ever that this kid trusts his stuff which I'm happy to admit is good enough. That's why I hate him so much. He actually has the talent that so many major league failures lacked. He just can't get his pea brain and poppy seed-sized testicles around the idea of actually using it.

He tried last night, when he first came in, he was doing his live on the outside corner stuff

but after that, he was good, everything he missed with after that was just a normal miss, not him missing cuz he was afraid

especially anything arm side

Kemp hit 3 doubles all on inside pitches. Scouting or pitch calling has some issues here too. Too many balls thrown by Montero for sure but he looked good for the most part.

I saw a good twitter poll.

Hypothetically, if Montero pitched to trout over and over again, what would happen first?

A) Trout makes an out
B) Trout and/or Montero dies of natural causes

C) Trout would fall in love with Montero and they'd get married in between ABs.

He loves Cox, what can I say?

(Thank you, good night.)

(who the fuck is this guy anyway? He's like the new Donduhdrr commenting all over the fucking place and mostly generic nothing posts. The new Ed Kranepool who will beat me for ROY for the 3rd year in a row when people say I'm a rookie again because of my next screen name.)

(I knew the joke wasn't good to begin with, but I still believe you don't understand what the joke meant, ala dondoodoo.
