This should count in the regular season only. Who gives a shit if a player is injured in spring training if they're healthy at the start of the regular season.

It's already that way. Players don't go on the DL until the season starts. No prize shall be awarded until 2 weeks into the season.

But if multiple players go on the DL on Opening Day, the order in which they get injured will determine the winner.

Pre-existing conditions excluded (i.e., Cespedes, Kilome, or TJ) unless they play in a ST game).

First "winner" gets a choice" a prize (worth about $20) or he/she can change my avatar for the season (or until that player returns, whichever is soonest).

Second "winner" gets the other choice.

So far:

Lowrie-- Madoff's mets
Frazier--- thestone
d'Arnaud -- FredSnow
Officially, all these guys are on the ten-day IL retroactive to March 25 so they could theoretically play in a week.

We know that's not going to happen, but prizes will not be awarded until it's official.

They have to miss two weeks. it's been one week.

If they move to the 15-day (or longer) IL that would do it in advance. That could happen as son as tomorrow.

On the other hand, they both start official rehab tomorrow. If they need less than a week of rehab ...

So now that players have missed two weeks of games, we have two winners:

1. Madoff's Mets (Lowrie)

First "winner" gets a choice: a prize (worth about $20) or he/she can change my avatar for the season (or until that player returns, whichever is soonest).

(PM me a where to send the gift, or a link to the pic for my new avatar)

2. thestone (Frazier)

Second "winner" gets the other choice.

If you want to be a late entry: (although third prize is rather trivial)

1) One Refugee per player. first come, first served.
2) The player must be on the 25-man active roster at the time of the injury.
3) The player must go on the IL) and miss at least two weeks.
4) A player who is currently injured (i.e., Cespedes, Drew Smith) must come back and play at least part of one rehab game before getting hurt again.
5) No prize shall be awarded in the event of a player's death (I'm twisted but not that twisted).
6) No prize shall be awarded if an injury is directly or indirectly caused by a member of Mets Refugees.
7) Ties (simultaneous injuries) shall be determined based on games missed.
8) Second tiebreaker if needed is number of days on active roster ("day-to-day") before going on the DL (aka IL).
9) There is no rule #9.
10) Open to Mets fans only.
11) A poster may not claim a player after his DL-causing injury occurs. Injuries to unclaimed players will be ignored for purposes of this pool.

(remaining eligible players: Alonso, Avilan, JD Davis, Guillorme, Oswalt, and future call-ups. Remember, if a player is optioned to the minors and then gets hurt, it doesn't count).

1st prize has been sent to Madoff's Mets. Expect it in about a week.

2nd prize was declined by the_stone31, so third prize has been sent to him. Also in about a week.

There has been no claimant for third place so far this season, but it will be honored in some way if necessary.

Also, the pool is officially closed.

Players can stop getting injured now

Why does gallstone have an obsession with Mets injuries?

It's actually a lot less now than it used to be. But his reputation is established.
