How many other teams are starting a guy with a .321 OPS at this point in the season?

Without JD I don't think there's much choice. Hopefully the day off tomorrow and he'll be back Tuesday

Yea Altherr is an automatic starter as long as McNeil, JD, Nimmo, and Dom are on the shelf

Not angry at Mickey, just sucks that our OF depth goes to complete shit so quickly.

Lagares has been really good lately though which means he's probably due for an injury

Any other team would be in a similar predicament with 4 OF injured.

Dom and JD weren't originally planned as OF depth, though. We went into the season completely against playing them there and then changed course when we realized our OF depth was the worst in baseball.

JD can take one at-bat but not four.

In his defense, yesterday Altherr made a really nice play that saved a couple runs and hit a couple hard balls.

yup. That kinda makes Altherr our 7th outfielder down the depth chart. That’s meh but with a few guys getting healthy he’ll be DFA’d

Of course Rajai, CarGo, and even Matt Kemp could produce as much but Altherr has the clear edge over all of them when it comes to defense, which is why I assume they’ve stuck with him

Well on the optimistic side, at least Lagares chose a good week to remember he's an MLB player.

You think Altherr has a defensive edge on Rajai? Rajai plays an adequate CF, even now.

Altherr's probably more likely to run into a few homers eventually, though.

Is Rajai healthy at this point? (Maybe he's playing in the minors?) Even though Altherr probably had his first good game of the season for us yesterday, I'd still rather have Rajai out there.

Yes, Rajai is healthy; he's just also been bad.

I'd like to hear daily updates on Ded Lowrie. I feel like Brodie is saying that he's progressing just to try to fend off his detractors. It's almost September and we're still freaking waiting for this guy to play his first game for us after getting a 2/20 contract.

5 if you include Rajai Davis, but he's rehabbing currently

Where's Nimmo? Are the rehab games rumors correct?
