Cecchini on two top 100 mid-season lists. One is Sickels though.

Sickels
#69: Gavin Cecchini, SS, Mets (NR): Looks like bat is breaking out in Double-A.

MLB.com
#100: Gavin Cecchini

Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 35 | Run: 50 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55

It took a while for Cecchini, the Mets' top pick in the 2012 Draft, to show what he could do, as injuries interrupted both his summer debut and his first full season of pro ball. Healthy in 2014, the younger brother of Red Sox prospect Garin Cecchini played across two levels of A ball before finishing the year in Double-A. He was very productive in his first full season at that level in 2015.

Cecchini has a solid approach at the plate with good knowledge of the strike zone. He's added some strength since he signed and while he's never going to be a big power guy, he has shown some extra-base pop. That might be enough bat considering how effective a shortstop Cecchini is. While not a burner, he has enough range, excellent instincts, good hands and a strong arm, giving him enough to stay at the position long-term.

The Mets are pleased with how Cecchini has developed and think he has the potential to be a No. 2 hitter and everyday shortstop.

I think Danny Murphy might have had Alzheimer's from Day 1 of his career.

Doesn't matter. He's starting at Vegas next year regardless. And hopefully can replace Tejada by June if we dont make an acquisition.
