I haven't given up on Cecchini yet. Tiny sample size before he got hurt, but he beasted away from Vegas in his 15 road games / 60 road ABs last season (.333 BA, .375/.567/.942, 2 HR). Would be cool with seeing him compete for a bench spot with Guillorme and Rivera this spring. Think we have enough in-house MIF options to let them battle it out for that spot, no need to recruit outside help there.

Is that just because he's a shortstop?

Its funny tonight. Had a scout tonight tell me he actually has Ronny pretty far down his list. Said the swing needs a lot of work. He has Kelenic as a solid 55. Mauricio is a 50 for him.

Probably just comes down to preference with the bat. I think Kelenic is a way better athlete. Mauricio isn't that impressive in that regard

Pickles -- there's been some Jaylen Palmer buzz. You hear anything from anyone about him?

Newton is the first big European kid the Mets have developed. I was a fan when I saw him this summer. One of my contacts complimented him on how quickly he made adjustments and how willing he was to take to coaching.

Code:
Farm System Talent Rankings
Last Three Years

Team 2018	2017	2016
Atlanta Braves	1	1	3
Miami Marlins	19	30	29
New York Mets	27	15	15
Phillies	6	6	8
Nationals	15	19	5

New York Mets Farm System Overview For 2019
SEE THE METS TOP 10 MLB PROSPECTS

NOTABLE GRADUATIONS: RHP Chris Flexen (9), RHP Corey Oswalt (16), RHP Jacob Rhame (23), 2B Jeff McNeil (NR)

TRENDING: 🔼 McNeil looks like the real deal, but no other graduated prospect figures prominently

STRENGTHS: The outline of a future lineup is taking shape at the lower levels with third baseman Mark Vientos and shortstops Ronny Mauricio and Shervyen Newton all excelling in Rookie ball in 2018. First baseman Peter Alonso and shortstop Andres Gimenez will make their marks in the majors much sooner, either in 2019 or 2020. College arms Anthony Kay and David Peterson have similar ETAs.

WEAKNESSES: Much of the system’s top position talent is several years away from Queens, and the top 10 is high-risk, high-reward overall. Beyond Dunn, 2018 second-round high schooler Simeon Woods-Richardson and trade pickup Franklyn Kilome, the system lacks for righthanded starters and is tilted toward relief arms overall. Then Kilome had Tommy John surgery after the season and will miss all of 2019.

Mets Projected 2022 Lineup
(Listed with 2022 season age)

C Kevin Plawecki 31
1B Peter Alonso 27
2B Andres Gimenez 23
3B Robinson Cano 40
SS Amed Rosario 26
LF Jeff McNeil 30
CF Brandon Nimmo 29
RF Michael Conforto 29
SP Jacob deGrom 34
SP Noah Syndergaard 29
SP Zack Wheeler 32
SP Steven Matz 31
SP Anthony Kay 27
CL Franklyn Kilome 27
