that kid Jace Beck is 6'9" at 18 years old? he could be a monster! only 200 lbs though...that's pretty skinny for 6'9"

David Roth article on the Mets draft, interesting take. As some of you know, hes a Mets fan himself.

Interested to see how Senger fares. Watched him pitch a bunch in college but he fucking imploded this season. Big lefty with a shitty delivery who maxes out 89/90. Maybe the Mets can get more out of his physicality

I think he picked the wrong sport!

Picks 5 through 10 are all signed for the minimum. Excellent news. Now to focus on the top 3, and Mangum. The great thing about this draft is Brodie signed legit potential in later rounds as insurance, in case we fail to sign Allen. Since we'll have a massive surplus of money remaining, we can reallocate that on other premium picks who fell due to signing issues, like the top LHP prep arm we snagged.

David Roth is easily one of the best writers, sports or otherwise, journalism has to offer.

There's no "minimum," fwiw. Jones, Ritter, Ashford, and Genord (5, 6, 7, and 9) all got 10k, and Wollersheim and Ota both got 1k.

That's $1,290,000 in savings across the board. They're also gonna need underslots from Baty and Mangum

True. I'm curious to see what Mangum signs for. Supposedly Baty signs by next week.

So, with his own slot included, the Mets have about 2 million for Matthew Allen. They need to create at least another million between Baty, Wolf and Mangum to make it possible
