Baseball America: Sources of Talent
By Dan | January 27, 2008
Over at their Prospects Blog, Baseball America has posted the sources of top 30 talent for all teams in baseball.
The Mets Top 30 breaks down as follows:
10 College, 5 High School, 2 Draft and Follow, 1 Non-Drafted Free Agent, 10 International, 1 Via Trade, 1 Via Rule 5 Draft
The Mets activity on the international market really shines through here, as 1/3rd of their top 30 is comprised of talent signed internationally. Their total trails only the Mariners, who have 11 players in their top 30. With 2 first round picks in the 2008 draft and one supplemental first round pick for the loss of Glavine to the Braves, the Mets should be able to add high quality players to their HS and college talent pool.
