Citi Field Update 1/19/08
By Dan M. | January 19, 2008
Here is the latest Citi Field update. As always, pictures can be found on the Refugees forum and Webshots.
Much work has been done the past two weeks on the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, which is now fully enclosed by steel. Beams and steel decking are being installed to support the promenade level above the rotunda, and the first two precast brick arches have been installed on the exterior of the rotunda.
Along Roosevelt Avenue, work continues on the windows and vents that are being installed inside the arched brick facade. Near the third base/right field entrance, brick laying continues inside the steel tower and on the outside of the elevator/stair shaft.
Along 126th Street, work has been done on the arched entrance, where windows have been installed.
Work continues at a rapid pace on the third base side of the park, where installation of precast risers continues, and the canopy over the upper deck has been partially installed.
Infrastructure work also continues, with piles being fully driven into the ground at the new temporary subway exit, and more work being done in all of the parking lots surrounding Shea Stadium and Citi Field.
Check back in two weeks for the next Citi Field update.
