David Riske Close To Pact With Brewers
By Doug R. | November 29, 2007
Buster Olney is reporting that the Brewers and right handed reliever David Riske are close to agreeing to a mulityear contract. The official total is not know yet, but it is expected to be significantly more then the original 2 year, $6 million deal orignally offered by KC to resign him.
Riske, 31, pitched in six seasons for the Cleveland Indians before going to Boston in the deal for Coco Crisp and splitting the 2006 season with the Red Sox and Chicago White Sox. Riske rebounded strongly in 2007, allowing just 27 walks and striking out 52 in 69 2/3 innings while working in middle relief for the Royals.
Milwaukee had to move quickly here to make up for the loss of Francisco Cordero.
